Campus Alcohol and Drug Education (C.A.D.E.)

The Health Education and Wellness Department has the Campus Alcohol and Drug Education (C.A.D.E.) program. The C.A.D.E. program offers a variety of programs designed to educate students on various drug and alcohol issues. Through this program students are reached in the classroom, residence halls, and campus wide awareness campaigns. Some of the topics most often emphasized are: Making smart choices for their futures and their health (alcohol and drug education); The Alcohol-Sex Connection Caution or Consequences: Paying the Price of Alcohol Misuse (MSU Alcohol Policies, State Laws, Federal Regulations, and DUI Information); Alcohol and Other Drug Assessments; Referral Services

The C.A.D.E. program also has the offenders’ course for students who receive alcohol related offenses. The course is designed to enrich MSU student's knowledge about alcohol. Though any student is eligible to attend or receive educational information, these courses are geared toward persons who have violated an alcohol law or policy on or off campus. Each course consists of 4 or more classes involving basic knowledge of the specific offender's offense, attendance of 1 open Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, homework as assigned, and completion of an exit exam with a grade of 85% or higher.
