Immunization Requirements
Measles and Rubella in the adult are highly contagious, serious illnesses that can result in pneumonia, encephalitis, birth defects, and even death. Most recent outbreaks of measles have occurred on college campuses. This is a concern to Mississippi State health officials and Mississippi State University.

In cooperation with the Mississippi State Department of Health and for the protection of our students, Mississippi State University requires new students, including transfers, born after 1956, to provide proof of immunity to measles and rubella.
