Staff Counselor or Staff Psychologist Position
Student Counseling Services (SCS) at Mississippi State University (MSU) is pleased to announce two openings: (1) SCS Staff Psychologist or Staff Counselor (link) and (2) Staff Counselor or Social Worker at the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) (link). Licensed masters or doctoral level social workers, counselors, or psychologists (or related field) will be considered. Individuals who are licensed at the LPC, LCSW, LMFT or Licensed Psychologist level are preferred. Clinicians at Student Counseling Services provide direct clinical services to a diverse student population; collaborate with other clinical staff in provision of services which may include clinical supervision, consultation and participation on departmental, divisional, or university committees, and providing outreach as requested.
The positions report to the Director of Student Counseling Services and serve through University Health Services in the Division of Student Affairs. The Staff Psychologist or Staff Counselor is responsible for providing individual, group, and couples counseling to students, and crisis response through the after-hours emergency rotation. The Staff Counselor or Social Worker at the CVM, will provide clinical, outreach and teaching services and will work in collaboration with SCS and the CVM Assistant Dean for Admissions and Student Affairs. The Student Counseling Services staff currently consists of a Director, nine full time clinicians, three part-time clinicians, three clinical Graduate Assistants, an Administrative Assistant, and an Office Associate. Experience working within a university counseling center is desirable.
