Staff Counselor or Staff Psychologist Position
Student Counseling Services at Mississippi State University currently has an opening for a Staff Psychologist or Staff Counselor. The successful candidate will be a multi-culturally affirming generalist and possess competency and experience in working with diverse populations. The candidate should have demonstrated experience and clinical competency in at least one of the following areas: assessment and treatment of depression, anxiety, disordered eating, and substance abuse. The individual should be able to provide risk assessment and crisis management. The candidate should have a Student Affairs orientation and be enthusiastic about working as a part of a multi-disciplinary team.
This position reports to the Director of Student Counseling Services and serves through University Health Services in the Division of Student Affairs. The Staff Psychologist or Staff Counselor is responsible for providing individual, group, and couples counseling to students, and crisis response through the after-hours emergency rotation. The Student Counseling Services staff currently consists of a Director, nine full time clinicians, three part-time clinicians, three clinical Graduate Assistants, an Administrative Assistant, and an Office Associate. Experience working within a university counseling center is desirable.
